What is Plastic Free July?

Hello Hello Hello!

For the entire month of July, I am pledging to go single-use plastic-free for the second time in a row alongside hundreds, maybe even thousands of strangers around the world, for Plastic Free July.

The initiative began in 2011 by the Plastic Free July Foundation, an independent not-for-profit headquartered in Perth, Australia with the sole goal to reduce the plastic waste footprint around the world. Over the last eight years, it's blossomed into a beautiful movement that allows you to decide your level of commitment, whether it's nice and easy for a day, or if you prefer to bump it up to difficult with a month (thirty-one days to be exact). If that's not curated enough, there's even the option to target specific items or to abstain from them all.

After you've accepted the challenge online, you'll receive weekly emails deliver tips, tricks, and reminders to keep you on track.

As for Allies of Mother Earth, my game plan for the month of June is to supply tips and tricks to help you all prepare for your pledges. I'll supply a list of awesome companies and brands, as well as what switches to make in your household.

On the first of July, I will begin blogging/logging my day-to-day experiences and potential struggles/failures that I face.

If at any point, you have any questions or concerns, feel free to drop a comment below or reach out to me via Instagram at @alliesofmotherearth. I am happy to offer any and all assistance that I can.
