Say Hello to Adventure
Hell, I will tell you what happens when you just say yes. It begins with you quitting your job, packing up your Honda civic and driving across the country with your rad ass friend. Here, you are given the opportunity to not only live on the open road for a little bit and have a bad ass road trip, but you gain perspective and insight. I mean, you’re submerging yourself into nature, into long ass conversations with the person you brought along, and dude sometimes those conversations get weird. But all is well and you are happy.
You arrive on the west coast, the exact opposite of where you started, and your first stop is In-N-Out burger, oh yeah. You almost run out of gas and have to push your car, that’s how much that burger meant. Next, you’re living in the sunny side of L.A. with no game plan. You’re waking up late, writing a shit ton, and investing your time in the uber of dog walking. This almost gets you into some shit because you accept all the walks in the sketchy areas of town. When you aren’t dog walking and writing, you’re going out and exploring. You’re running errands to discover parts of the city you would have never found otherwise.
You’re eating out of a lot of taco trucks, and majority of the time, your mouth is on fire because you think you can hang. Girl, you can’t. You are a baby back bitch when it comes to spicy and mint. You can’t even eat an altoid, come on now. Now, here is the craziest part. One day, you get an email introducing you to a bad ass creative/lawyer who is starting a travel company. You show up to her house in your skinny jeans and floral see through cardigan thing. You sit there in awe at everything to leave her lips because she is no lie, describing your dream life. You tell her you definitely want the position, but will follow up later with questions because your brain is struggling to comprehend all that is happening. You immediately call your cousin and let her know that you have found your fairy godmother.
Now, fast forward a month-ish and you’re boarding an airplane to friggin' Bali. In Bali, you are scouting locations and running retreats. You’re writing multiple times a day. You are doing meditation and yoga every single morning, give or take morning pages and gratitude exercises. You are driving around on a motorbike which you manage to only crash once; I am very proud of myself for that fact guys, just saying. You are attending events and coming out of your shell, which is another accomplishment kids. You are hanging with some of the raddest people around and enjoying all that the island has to offer.
Fast forward one more month and you’re lying on your cousin’s couch in Los Angeles, having adventures every other day. You are creating new friendships and you are actively pursuing what makes your heart happy. You are learning each and every day that just saying yes is magical. So come on guys, face those fears, chase those dreams and say hello to adventure.
