Late Night Poetry

Good evening peaches, it's a chilly Monday in Los Angeles and I'm kicking it with the nugget of my life.

If I am totally honest, I've been struggling to write anything of substance lately. So, instead of forcing myself to stare a blank page for hours, I am going to provide a handful of quotes that knocked me on my ass the first time I read them.

"The world will tell you to apologize for your sensitivity. Choose to cherish it instead." - Madeline Hart

"It can't always be the life we want. What on Earth would we live for then?" - Liam Ryan

"A strong spirit transcends rules." - Prince

"You want to change the world, tell the world how you feel." - Sidd Long

"When how far you've come doesn't look like enough
look back at all the hurdles you've jumped
and all the struggles you've overcome." -
Harpreet M Dayal

"Save you? Never did I ever think you needed saving. I have always known you are the woman who saves herself." - Tyler Knott Gregson

"Soulmates aren't the ones who make you happiest, no. They're instead the ones who make you feel the most. Burning edges and scares and stars. Old pains and pangs, captivation and beauty. Strain and shadows and worry and yearning. Sweetness and madness and dreamlike surrender. They hurl you into the abyss. They taste like hope." - Victoria Erickson

"You will often find yourself in the same situations leading to the same outcomes. Constantly, leaving you wounded and bleeding all over again. And then you will wonder why life is so cruel and why life can't let you hold onto anything good. But that is where you make your mistake. You become too busy blaming the world and the people around you to realize that the one constant factor in all of your repeating misery is you. The universe has a funny way of teaching us lessons and sometimes it will make you repeat these lessons until you finally learn what it has been desperately trying to show you. And I'm telling you this because I too at one point caused myself the greatest misery by loving people who I knew weren't ready but chose to blame them anyways." - A. Fellow

"Being strong means knowing when to be soft." - Bridgett Devoue

"I never lost sight of the real you – the goodness that lived within your heart. Even when you did your best to convince me otherwise." - Michael Faudet

I've got a notebook full of greats, but these are the most recent. In fact, typing each up inspired a little something something, so I am going to put it onto paper before I lose it.

Keep on keepin' on champs!
