Hello Peaches, Goodbye Fun-Employment

Well champions, it has been a solid minute since my last blog post and for that I apologize. It has been a wild and crazy two weeks and yeah, I do not actually have a valid excuse. If I am being totally honest with you, I have had zero motivation/inspiration. I do continue on with my daily journaling though and that is rad; it all just kind of spews onto the page in the rawest form of vulnerability. Yet I won’t kick it off with that. Let’s start with a basic summary of the last two weeks.

As most of you know, I was fun-employed. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, it is simply putting the fun in unemployment. I recently got a solid week of straight adventuring with my fam bam from Georgia. The first day of the adventure would begin with the lovely dinosaurs just outside Palm Springs followed by an insane amount of over the top dancing in my car for ten hours (let the record show there is not a rhythmic bone in my body). Once I picked up the crew from the airport and showed off my inner Fast & Furious driving skills in the parking garage, we headed on over to Sedona to see the ole grandparents. Holy guacamole! They are living large. I was completely blown away at their brand new house. Anyways, focus Casha. The next two days would be filled to the rim with throwback stories, home videos and just enjoying the Arizona desert in great company. On the third day, we hit up the picturesque Grand Canyon; the beauty is uncanny, but watching my mother power walk around the outer rim was even better (I love you mom!).

After scaring my parents by standing too close to the edge, we headed on over to Vegas. Whoa baby am I great at black jack…just kidding. I lost money, which is actually shitty considering the fact that I was #funemployed. Any who, we enjoyed a fun night and arose early the next morning to meet Paco and Aly for lunch in Anaheim. We of course took the family to In-N-Out to enjoy the savory fatty deliciousness. The next four days were spent cruising around southern California and milking up all it has to offer. I took my parents + twin to a few of my favorite spots and to meet a few of my favorite people. When the last day arrived and I had to drop them off at the airport, my heart got a little heavy. It was beyond wonderful to have everyone so close again; I kind of forgot what it was like. Dauphine was kind enough to assist in the drop off and to catch a few of the tears in her fur coat.

The next week to follow was kind up in the air, bonding with different homies and job hunting like a mad woman. With several SEVERAL applications and cover letters submitted, I finally received a call for an interview. AND GUESS WHAT? Your girl is partially employed with a totally kick ass internship beginning on Tuesday. *high fives herself in the air* Last night to celebrate, I enjoyed the L.A. skyline from a roof top Jacuzzi. I have no idea why skylines always knock me on my ass, but they do without fail. All it took was opening up the door and I could not look away. I honestly spent a better chunk of the time running lines of poetry and prose in my head than I did socializing. So yeah, I am grateful for roof top Jacuzzis and the L.A. skyline for returning my motivation and supplying the inspiration.

I have a lot of rad posts queued up (hence the brevity of this post) and ready for action champs, so come on back now, ya hear?

Casha out.
